Various logo projects
Amiraj – Modern Indian Kitchen
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Hampton Roads restaurateur Ashok Arora decided it was a good time to experiment. He had been successful with a chain of Nawab restaurants, but wanted to try something new. Amiraj is the result of that experiment, an inspired Indian menu, served in a modern stylish atmosphere. The logo reflects the creative vibe. The grungy font and updside down i convey something that is a little out of the ordinary, while the jewel-tones convey a not-too-far detour from traditional Indian.
Isle of Wight County Environmental Responsibility Project
Isle of Wight County was kicking off a program to promote environmental sustainability in the area. I worked with a local agency to develop this logo that would be placed on marketing pieces, as well as everything from reusable tote bags to water bottles.
Schooner Virginia‘s Ocean Navigator School of Seamanship
Schooner Virginia launched the Ocean Navigator School of Seamanship program. I worked with a local marketing agency to create this logo to promote the program that would help teach sailors to be better voyagers and navigators.
The Mummichog Society
The Elizabeth River, a 6-mile tributary of the Chesapeake Bay became one of the most highly polluted bodies of water on the east coast. In the early 1990s, The Elizabeth River Project set out to change that.
The Mummichog Society was created to thank the generous supporters (those who donated $2500 or more) for their contributions. Why the mummichog? A Mummichog is a tiny fish that serves as a key indicator of the river’s health. It spends it’s entire life within 100 yards where it is born, and if the mummichog is healthy and in abundant quantities, it’s a sign their home is good condition.
QuickCorp
QuickCorp was created as a way to cut out the middle-man for small businesses to set up simple corporations. They would have the owner fill out some paper work and they would file the necessary documents for a fraction of what it would normally cost for traditional attorney fees.
Janes of All Trades
Janes of All Trades was created by a local entrepreneur providing a variety of marketing, pr and event planning services. The bright colors and vibrant flowers reflect the owner’s personality, outlook and positive approach to whatever services her clients might need.
AAU Junior Olympic Games
In 2010, the AAU Junior Olympic Games were scheduled to take place in Hampton Roads. The Hampton Roads Sports Commission hired me to develop a logo for the event. This option was ultimately not chosen, but was my personal favorite.
